REPORT: Mufti Derian urges leaders to cooperate with government
 Grand Mufti Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian said on Tuesday that Islam must not be linked with terrorism.
 
Mufti Derian’s comments were made from the Dar al-Fatwa where a conference about the role of religious institutions in dialogue.
 
“Lebanon’s Muslims cherish the freedom of opinion, respect others and refuse the Islam to be linked with extremism,” he added.
 
On another note, the mufti stressed the necessity to assist Prime Minister Saad Hariri in promoting unity.
 
He also noted that discussions held to find a new vote law are the responsibility of everyone.
 
Mufti Derian concluded by calling on the Lebanese leaders to set their differences aside and to cooperate with the government.
