Minister of Health declares first case of Coronavirus in Lebanon
Minister of Health Hassan Samad declared on Friday first case of Coronavirus in Lebanon, adding that the patient is a Lebanese woman who came from the Iranian city of Qom and quarantined yesterday was tested positive for Coronavirus.
 
“She is a 45-yesr old woman in a good health,” Samad said during a press conference.
 
“There are two other suspected cases and we are carrying out all necessary procedures,” he added.
 
The minister noted that all passengers on board of the plane are being followed up on, adding that passengers who came from Iran during the past week "must abide by the in-home quarantine or call 76/592699 if any symptoms appear."
 
“There is no need to declare a state of emergency, schools and other social centers must show awareness and take all preventive measures,” Samad stressed.
 
He concluded by saying that “excessive panic is unnecessary,” adding that all taken procedures are "sufficient and serious."
