Minister of Energy Walid Fayyad clarified ahead of the Parliament's session that the World Bank did not reject the financing of gas and electricity, but there was a delay in giving approval for the financing.
As for the contract with Jordan, Fayyad pointed out that it was previously concluded and needs ratification by the Parliament, revealing that the World Bank's meeting on Friday did not produce the desired results.
He also confirmed in this regard, that communication is still ongoing with US and French ambassadors, considering that “the ball is in their court” to formally engage us in negotiations with the World Bank.
