Speaker Berri to hold several contacts on Friday over governmental file

       
A parliamentary meeting was held on Wednesday in Ain El-Tineh in the presence of Lebanese deputies from the Amal Movement, Hezbollah, Change and Reform bloc, National Struggle Front and Syrian Socialist National Party bloc.         

In this regard, Speaker Nabih Berri briefed the deputies on the contacts he held with Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Rai over the parliamentary elections and the appeal raised before the Constitutional Council, noting that he will hold on Friday several contacts over the governmental file.        

Berri added that he will call on the parliamentary communications committee to convene in order to reach common ground, within a specific deadline, over a new electoral law.     

Separately, Berri said that the security situation in Lebanon is "highly dangerous," pointing out that there are attempts to foment sedition.
     
Earlier, Berri met with Caretaker Public Works Minister Ghazi Aridi and Caretaker Social Affairs Minister Wael Abou Faour in the presence of his political aide, Ali Hassan Khalil.
