Rai: Arab world scenario without Christians is “disastrous”

Maronite Patriarch Beshara Rai said on Friday that “the Arab world scenario devoid of Christians is disastrous and destroys the multiculturalism of the Arab world.”

During the opening of a conference on “Christians’ fate in the Middle East” at USEK, Rai voiced his rejection to any Muslim-Christian conflict in Lebanon, stressing that Lebanon should remain carrier of the message of humanity and civilization to the East and West.

For their part, the conferees highlighted the importance of reaching equality between all religions and supporting Christians in the Middle East.
