Future bloc: Bir al-Abed attack aims at creating strife

The Future bloc condemned on Tuesday the explosion that targeted the region of Bir al-Abed neighborhood in the Beirut Southern Suburbs, noting that such an attack aims at destabilizing the country and creating strife. The bloc called on the security apparatuses to intensify investigations to unveil the perpetrators of the crime.          

The bloc issued a statement following its weekly meeting whereby it rejected a number of positions and stances voiced from the explosion scene, pointing out that Lebanon cannot be ruled by a single party or group and its institutions belong to the entire nation.                   

On another note, the Future bloc considered that arresting a number of LAF soldiers who committed violations during the Abra clashes constitutes a serious step toward disciplinary accountability.       

The bloc also denounced setting up barriers on the Lebanese territory in the region of al-Qaa near the borders with Syria, pointing out that the Future bloc will hold talks with security apparatuses to put an end to the installation process.
