March 14 says Bir al-Abed blast linked to Hezbollah's involvement in Syria

The March 14 Secretariat General condemned on Wednesday the blast that targeted the region of Bir al-Abed in the Beirut Southern Suburbs, noting that it had repeatedly warned against the repercussions of Hezbollah's involvement in the Syrian crisis.      

"The said involvement will take a toll on all parties without exception," the Secretariat warned.     
In this regard, the March 14 Secretariat stressed the need to resort to the Lebanese state's institutions, adding that the memorandum that was submitted by the March 14 deputies to President Michel Sleiman paves the way for stability and security in the country.          

On another note, the March 14 Secretariat General denounced the popular uprising that targeted Caretaker Interior Minister Marwan Charbel, noting that "it confirms the absence of the Lebanese state in Hezbollah strongholds."     

On the 17th of June, March 14 forces finalized the list of their demands and signed it to refer it to President Sleiman. The major demands of March 14 forces include:        

• The withdrawal of Hezbollah from the Syrian territories        

• The deployment of Lebanese Armed Forces and international troops along the northeastern borders with Syria             

• The exertion of efforts between President Sleiman and Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam to form a 'national salvation' cabinet.
