Habib to LBCI: Mikati will kill 2 birds with one stone

Future bloc MP Khoder Habib told Nharkom Said TV show that PM Najib Mikati will have to confront at some point the issue of funding the Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL).

“I wonder how come Mikati claims that the STL will be funded, while the majority of ministers are against it”, Habib said. Habib said that he expects that Mikati will resign shortly after the vote to fund the STL will fail.

“If he resigns he will have killed two birds with one stone: First he would have salvaged his reputation in the eyes of the international community and the public opinion, second he will redeem himself in Tripoli amongst the Sunnis because of the popularity he lost in his own city”, Habib said.
