MP Daher to LBCI: A third party opened fire at LAF, al-Assir’s supporters

MP Kahled Daher stressed on Saturday that most of March 8 deputies claimed to be supporting the Lebanese Armed Forces and their integrity during the meeting of the National Defense Parliamentary Committee, but they attempted to hinder the meeting and prevented caretaker Defense Minister Fayez Ghosn and LAF officers from expressing their positions.

In a statement to LBCI’s Nharkom Said, MP Daher explained that the video displayed during the national defense meeting showed Sheikh Ahmad al-Hariri negotiating with an army officer near the complex of Ahmad al-Assir in Abra, when a third party opened fire in their direction, adding that “at that time one of the bodyguards of Sheikh al-Hariri opened fire in turn at one soldier.”

Accordingly, Daher described the Abra events as a crime implemented by Hezbollah with the participation of the LAF Intelligence branch.

“Who is the terrorist here? Is it Ahmad al-Assir or Hezbollah, the one that attacked embassies, kidnapped foreigners, sent terrorist cells throughout the world and occupied the capital Beirut?” he asked.
