Zahra: Lebanon situation at its worst since Taif

MP Antoine Zahra criticized on Saturday the March 8 declarations, according to which Lebanon enjoys security, political and economic stability.    

“Lebanon has been going through the worst economic, security and political phase since Taif accord,” Zahra said.   
Addressing the annual LF dentists' dinner function in Zalka, Zahra touched on the recent security incidents in the country saying that, “Attacking a nightclub and a liquor store in Tyre is not permissible.”    

Zahra slammed the recent attack against the Orthodox diocese, saying that “the attack is not theft-related; it rather holds a political message.”    

Criticizing Lebanon’s recent position at the Arab League, Zahra said “Lebanon must not remain tightlipped before the atrocities perpetrated by the regime, under pretext of neutrality.”    

In his concluding remarks, Zahra brought up the STL issue, saying that “the Tribunal exists with or without the Lebanese government funding and further reluctance to pay its dues to the court jeopardizes its credibility.”
