Kidnapped Lebanese citizen released in Bekaa

The state-run National News Agency reported on Wednesday that the Lebanese national Ayman Rayed, who hails from the town of Arsal, was released by his kidnappers due to the efforts and pressures exerted by the Lebanese Armed Forces.

The army established checkpoints on main and side roads forcing the kidnappers to release Rayed in Sahel Shaet in the northern Bekaa.

Rayed's family said it did not pay any ransom in exchange for his release.

No further information was provided.
