Berri follows up on domestic violence law

Speaker Nabih Berri met on Monday with a delegation from the "Committee on the Elimination of Discrimination against Women" and the "Lebanese Council of Women", whereby the delegation expressed gratitude to the approval of the law to protect women against domestic violence by the joint parliamentary committees, calling on Berri to deploy efforts in order to pass the law during the general authority session.

During the meeting, several topics were tackled, mainly the pending draft laws awaiting the Parliament's ratification regarding discrimination against women in the Penal Code and the nationality law.

Separately, Berri received the ambassador of the Netherlands to Lebanon Heere Eltje Gerrit de Boer, in a farewell visit.
