Arslan calls on EU to reconsider its decision on Hezbollah

The head of the Lebanese Democratic Party, MP Talal Arslan stressed on Sunday that void in a security institution’s leadership must not be reached, especially in the Lebanese Armed Forces, noting that the military institution is the only institution that respects the state’s public administrations and should be protected.

Arslan said that he does not support risking void in the positions of army Commander and Chief of Staff, adding that as a political force, they do not reject the term extension option.

Commenting on the European decision the blacklist the military wing of Hezbollah, Arslan pointed out that the EU decision is not applicable and cannot be implemented, stating that such a decision is unfair and unjust to Lebanon and the Lebanese people. He called on the European Union to reconsider their decision “that does not and will never affect the force of the Resistance in Lebanon.”
