Al-Arida General Security station resumes work

The Lebanese General Security announced on Thursday that work will resume as of Thursday morning at the al-Arida border crossing between Lebanon and Syria.

The General Security added that the investigations in the latest attack on the post are still underway under the supervision of the military prosecution to reveal the perpetrators.

The National News Agency reported on Sunday that residents of the bordering town of al-Arida stormed the station of Lebanon's General Security after a Syrian man was killed in an bordering attack.

The Agency added that residents broke the windows of the base with rocks.

The man was killed from gunfire coming from the Syrian side when he was attempting to cross the river separating Lebanese-Syrian borders.

Residents also scattered General Security's equipment in the station, causing malfunction in the computers system  and  called for the Lebanese army to deploy in the area to protect the border.
