Karami retaliates to Aoun's attack on Sunni figures
State Minister Ahmad Karami lashed out Saturday on MP Michel Aoun's campaign against PM Mikati, stressing in a statement that Sunnis are not an easy target.

An extraordinary cabinet session failed to take place Friday as Change and Reform Bloc Ministers boycotted the meeting and threatened of resignation in protest against PM Najib Mikati's backing of funding of Special Tribunal for Lebanon (STL), investigating the assassination of PM Rafik Hariri and related crimes.

"Michel Aoun and his ministers continuously provoke the Sunni sect... thinking that this would make them look influential and capable of doing whatever they wanted with the country." Karami warned that days of silence were over and every attack would be answered with appropriate rhetoric.

The Minister called upon Aoun's bloc to have mercy on this country and stop the agitation.
