Lebanese Customs confiscate counterfeit whisky bottles
The Lebanese Customs confiscated large quantities of counterfeit whisky. Members of the Customs services raided an apartment in Jounieh that was used by offenders H.J., A.T. and Ch. Kh. on November 23. The three offenders were emptying Jack Colsen whisky in bottles bearing the name of international brands and then attempting to sell them to restaurant and shops, misleading the Lebanese and foreign consumers. The Customs’ members were able to confiscate a large number of empty and full bottles as well as other equipment.

In line with the instructions of Finance Minister Mohammad Safadi, the offenders were arrested while transferring the counterfeit goods. According to the directions given by the Attorney General of Mount Lebanon they were turned in to the office entrusted with the task of fighting financial crimes to continue investigations.

The Custom’s administration asked its employees that detain any information about illegal actions to call the Customs’ operation room by dialing: 01-983253 and 01-983254.
