Jumblatt: Mikati’s decision curbs political gridlock

National Struggle Front chief MP Walid Jumblatt said that the decision taken by PM Najib Mikati to fund the Special Tribunal for Lebanon is a clear sign that the cabinet will live up to its international commitments.

“Clearly Mikati is avoiding putting Lebanon on a collision course with the international community and is keen on maintaining the domestic balance”, Jumblatt said.

Jumblatt stressed that this exceptional decision rescued the cabinet that was going through a rough patch in light of the critical regional situation.

Jumblatt said that the solution reached contributes to curbing the political domestic gridlock, hoping that the decision will lay the foundations for the upcoming period.
