President Sleiman wraps up visit to New York, returns to Beirut

President Michel Sleiman returned to Beirut on Friday after wrapping up his visit to New York.

He chaired the Lebanese delegation which attended a 4-day United Nations General Assembly meeting in New York.

World leaders met in New York to push for a peace conference to end Syria's civil war.

President Sleiman also met with US president Barack Obama on the sidelines of the meeting.

World leaders, including the five permanent members of the U.N. Security Council, had met also discussed means to help Lebanon maintain political stability and security and cope with the continuous flow of Syrian refugees in light of the war taking place in neighboring Damascus.
