MP Jarrah says Hezbollah's weapons do not protect the Resistance from Israel

Future bloc MP Jamal Jarrah said on Tuesday that Hezbollah's checkpoints that were established in the eastern city of Baalbek-comprised of members who do not hail from the city, have led to the latest incident between the group and the al-Chiyah family.

In an interview with LBCI's Nharkom Said TV Show, MP Jarrah stressed that members of Hezbollah opened fire at two members of al-Chiyah family, noting that "the group's weapons do not protect the Resistance from Israel but target the Lebanese citizens instead".

"Hezbollah's weapons aim to control the Lebanese state and to prevent the formation of a new government," MP Jarrah said.

MP Jarrah also voiced his rejection to self-imposed security, adding that Hezbollah backtracked on this process in Beirut's Southern Suburbs after "it had failed".
