Lebanon makes the list on the World’s Worst Passports For Travel

Most countries put visa restrictions on overseas visitors, evident in a ranking of worldwide countries based on the freedom of travel for their citizens according to the 2013 Henley & Partners Visa Restrictions Index.

“Visa restrictions are a vital tool for governments to control the movement of foreign nationals across borders,” Henley & Partners said.

This year, Sweden, Finland and the UK topped the index, with a score of 173, which indicates the number of countries and territories their nationals can visit without a visa.

In turn, Luxembourg, Denmark, Germany, and the US followed with a score of 172 on the index.

As for the nations that are lumbered with the greatest travel restrictions worldwide, Afghanistan, Iraq, Somalia, Pakistan, Palestinian territory, Eritrea, Nepal, Sudan, Sri Lanka, Kosovo and Lebanon topped the list.

Lebanon with a population of approximately 4.1 million has a score of 32 on the index.
