Caretaker PM Mikati: It is time to build solid Lebanese-Palestinian relations

Caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati said on Tuesday that it was "time to build solid Lebanese-Palestinian relations," adding that the case of the refugees must remain active.

Mikati's comments came during a press conference for the Lebanese-Palestinian Dialogue Committee (LPDC) held at the Grand Serail.

Caretaker PM Mikati also noted that Lebanon cannot assume the burdens of the Palestinian refugees without the support of the International Community.

The total number of registered refugees in Lebanon stands at approximately 455,000, half of whom reside in 12 official camps

On another note, Mikati called on the Lebanese leaders to put Lebanon's interests on top of their priorities, urging them to hold dialogue to solve the ongoing crisis.

He also slammed the conditions and counter conditions imposed by Lebanese leaders in terms of the formation of the new government.
