Geagea: Delay in cabinet formation damages Lebanon’s democratic system

The head of the Lebanese Forces Samir Geagea called Sunday on President Michel Sleiman and the Prime Minister-Designate Tammam Salam to hasten the formation of a new cabinet "according to a formula that meets their aspirations and relieves their conscience."

In a speech he delivered during the annual Europe convention via Skype, Geagea said that the delay in reaching agreement over a new governmental formula damages the country’s democratic and constitutional system.

On another note, Geagea called for holding serious presidential elections aiming at electing a strong president who will implement a specific political program.

The LF leader urged the Christians of the Middle East to create alliance with moderate Muslims who constitute a majority, against all forms of extremism.
