Rai calls for finding a way out of current crisis

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai called Sunday on the Lebanese people to hold dialogue in order to find a way out of the current crisis, which is affecting the political, economic and security levels.

“We thank the foreign countries and the International Community for their keenness on ending Lebanon’s governmental void, avoiding a presidential vacuum and maintaining Lebanon’s sovereignty and unity,” Rai said during Sunday’s holy sermon.

On the other hand, Patriarch Rai denounced the Lebanese parties’ insistence on hindering the cabinet formation process, while ignoring the growing economic crisis and the issue of the Syrian and Palestinian refugees whose number is rapidly increasing.

Rai also called for the release of all the hostages and those detained for political reasons, hailing the efforts of the Lebanese Armed Forces and all the security apparatuses in controlling the situation across the country.
