What really happened with the attempted shooting of Sheikh al-Baba?

A bullet nearly struck the Imam of al-Farouk Mosque in Aisha Bakkar on Sunday while spending time with his family in Bchamoun.

Surveillance cameras in the area did not capture any movement as the shooter was most likely hiding in a wooded area.

Sheikh al Baba said that the bullet narrowly passed his head, and voiced his fear that inciting sectarianism is creating an unstable situation adding that these types of incidents sow the seeds of strife.

Dar Al Fatwa slammed the attack against the member of the Islamic endowment council Sheikh Ahmed al-Baba who was shot at with a silenced weapon while in his garden.

The Mufti of the Republic Sheikh Mohamad Rashid Qabbani called for tightening security and taking drastic measures to avoid any similar incidents. Qabbani added that traitors and criminals will not succeed in destabilizing Lebanon and sowing the seeds of chaos once again.
