REPORT: Security document reveals that al-Nusra Front prepared 4 booby-trapped vehicles

A document has been circulating on social media websites, which is said to be sent from the head of the airport’s security department to the head of the airport’s security apparatus, whereby he said that al-Nusra Front has loaded four vehicles with explosives.

According to the information included in the document, al-Nusra Front prepared four booby-trapped vehicles and sent them to Lebanon. The vehicles are a white 1988 Mercedes 300 holding a forged registration plate, a gray 1985 Nissan Patrol, a black Mercedes 230 and a gray Chevrolet Blazer.

The first two vehicles were sent to Lebanon on October 17, 2013 and headed from Arsal to unknown locations.

The document also revealed that the operation was implemented under the supervision of al-Nusra Front official, Palestinian Sheikh Abou Imad Toufic al-Hijazi and the Lebanese national Kayed Ghadada who was appointed as head of the group, instead of Omar al-Atrash.

In this context, sources from the airport’s security apparatus denied, in a statement to LBCI, having any information regarding such document, refusing the comment on whether or not it is valid.

In turn, sources from the Internal Security Forces’s Intelligence Bureau noted that it has not received any information regarding the booby-trapped cars, adding that it does not have any evidence linking Omar al-Atrash to al-Nusra front.

On the other hand, sources from Hezbollah said that such document has been circulated by Lebanese security apparatuses, mainly the Lebanese Armed Forces Intelligence.
