Cardinal Rai calls for holding presidential elections on due time

Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai praised on Sunday the stance of President Michel Sleiman who rejects the extension of his term, calling to hold the presidential elections on their due date, to form a new cabinet capable of addressing challenges and to adopt a fair electoral law.

"Sleiman's visit to Saudi Arabia will yield positive results," Cardinal Rai said, speaking from the Beirut International Airport upon his return from Rome.
