Pope Francis appoints Cardinal Rai member of the Vatican's Congregation for Catholic Education

Pope Francis appointed on Wednesday Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai as a member of the Vatican's Congregation for Catholic Education for a 5-year term.

One of the Congregation's missions is to spread the principles of Catholic education while applying them in Catholic schools and universities.

It is worth noting that Cardinal Rai is also a member of the Congregation for the Oriental Churches, the Supreme Tribunal of the Apostolic Signatura, the Pontifical Council for Social Communications and the Pontifical Council for the Pastoral care of migrants and itinerant people.
