Qahwaji: Tyre blast clearly targets stability in south

LAF Commander General Jean Qahwaji said that the terrorist blast that targeted the UNIFIL in Tyre a few days ago as well as the rocket-firing incidents, the latest being on Sunday night, were clearly targeting the LAF, the Lebanese state and stability in the south.

Following his meeting with the UNIFIL’s Commander General Alberto Asarta and a number of senior UNIFIL officers, Qahwaji said that the terrorist attacks will not deter the Army from implementing UNSC Resolution 1701 and ensuring security to Lebanese citizens in collaboration with the international forces.

Qahwaji called on the concerned parties to spare no effort to uncover the identity of the perpetrators.
