Head of the Interpol Foundation for a Safer World Elias Murr announces a partnership with LBCI

Former Lebanese Minister Elias Murr announced on Thursday the launch of Interpol’s Foundation for a Safer World, which he will be presiding.

In a meeting with officials at the Foundation’s headquarters in the French city of Lyon, Murr said that the organization will begin its work soon. He also declared an official partnership with LBCI.Secretary General of Interpol Ronald Noble, who was present at the launch, expressed his gratitude towards LBCI, which is "supporting the Foundation by stressing to the world the necessity of protecting the rights of citizens, families and businesses to make the world a safer place."

Last October, former deputy Prime Minister and ex-Minister Elias Murr was appointed the head of the INTERPOL Foundation for a Safer World for a seven-year term.

The ex-Minister was unanimously appointed by INTERPOL's Executive Committee prior to the organization's 82nd General Assembly held in Colombia.

The INTERPOL Foundation for a Safer World provides a platform for public-private-sector collaboration in making a significant contribution to law enforcement and crime prevention on the local, national and international levels.

The 82nd INTERPOL General Assembly, which opened in Colombia on Monday, is highlighting the need to take new measures and strategies in order to enhance law enforcement amid global crime hazards.
