ISF: Arrested robbers of Orthodox Archbishopric confess to other robberies

The ISF General Directorate’s Public Relations department said in a statement that the 3 arrested members of the gang who stole the contents, documents and possessions of Beirut Archbishopric’s Roman Orthodox church in Ashrafieh, were transferred on 23/11/2011 to Beirut’s Judicial police station for further investigations, upon the relevant judicial authority’s request.

The PR department said that following extended investigations, the arrested confessed that, besides robbing the Archbishopric, they carried out many robberies.

On 8/12/2011, Beirut’s judicial police unit was able, upon the relevant judicial authority’s request, to apprehend the woman with the initials N.R. (Lebanese, born in 1977) who was disposing the stolen items. Search is ongoing to arrest the rest of the gang.
