Mikati takes a tour of traffic, telephone control centers

MP Najib Mikati visited Saturday Telecommunication Ministry's control center for interception of phone calls and Interior Ministry's joint operations room for traffic control, and urged all concerned parties to abide by the law and preserve personal liberties of citizens.     

The Premiere was accompanied by Interior Minister Marwan Charbel and Telecommunications Minister Nicolas Sahnawi.      
"The purpose of today's tour is to closely examine measures taken to limit traffic jams during the holidays in Beirut," said Mikati, "but the true radical solution to the problem needs a futuristic vision of widening roads, particularly at the entrance and exit points of the capital."          

Mikati revealed that he held a meeting with head of Council for Development and Reconstruction to study plans to expand the road network.
