Hajj Hassan: Dairy production insufficient for Lebanese consumers

Agriculture Minister Hussein Hajj Hassan held a meeting on Saturday with dairy producers and cooperatives following the manipulation that recently hit milk prices.

Following the meeting, Hajj Hassan announced that the Lebanese industries do not commit to the production of cheese out of raw milk for the dairy production is not sufficient to satisfy half of the Lebanese consumers.

The agriculture minister also met with grape growers whose crops sustained damages last year due to the snow storm. He confirmed that their loss will be compensated, highlighting the importance of creating a fund for natural disasters.
