Airport customs foil drug smuggling attempt

Customs agents at Beirut's Rafik Hariri International Airport thwarted on Monday morning an attempt by a Lebanese national to smuggle 4 kilograms of cocaine, the state-run National News Agency reported.

The Lebanese man (born 1965), identified by his initials A. D., was returning to Beirut from Cyprus when he was detained and referred to the Anti-Drug Bureau for investigation.

The seized quantity was packed in a professional way in a double bottom suitcase, according to the agency.
