Jabal Akroum, Andakt wildfires continue to rage for the second day

The wildfire that erupted on Wednesday in forest area of Akroum and Andakt continues to rage on Thursday, while the Civil Defense teams are unable to reach the site of the flames.

The military choppers failed to interfere to help extinguishing the fires that threaten large green spaces due to the heavy fog covering the region.

However, the towns' residents stressed that these fires are not accidental, but arson, noting that it is the first time wildfires erupt during this time of the season when the temperature hits -2 degrees overnight.

Accordingly, the residents called on the authorities to launch an investigation in order to unveil the identities of the perpetrators.
