Ghosn: Negotiations failed time to take it to the streets
The General Labor Confederation urged all concerned union confederations to gear up for the strike that will take place on December 27 in all regions and in different public and private institutions.

Following the meeting of the GLC’s executive council headed by the head of the GLC Ghassan Ghosn, the GLC called on the Committee on the National Trade Union Congress to hold a meeting on Wednesday. The meeting aims at following up on the preparations for the Trade Union Congress that will be held Friday at 4 p.m. in the GLC’s headquarters in Corniche Al Nahr.

“The strike is to protest against the policies that have burdened and humiliated people, policies that impose taxes on them”, Ghosn said, adding that the negotiations are focusing these days on a 25,000 LBP raise as if workers are a mere product. Ghosn accused a capitalistic monopolizing mastermind behind the hindrances preventing the adoption of the right decision that will lift the financial burdens off the citizens’ backs, calling on people to take it to the streets.

Ghosn stressed that negotiations did not yet achieve any positive solutions that will mitigate the workers’ economic problems, improve business, stabilize the economy and secure peace.
