Speaker Berri says constitutional government is a must

Speaker Nabih Berri stressed on Wednesday the necessity of forming a constitutional government, urging Lebanese leaders to take their time in the formation process.

Berri's comments were made following his weekly meeting with MPs, in which he noted that media reports stating that Parliament will lose its power after the 25th of March are "untrue", adding that the Parliament loses effect in the last 10 days before the end of its tenure.

President Michel Sleiman's six-year term ends in May, but there are fears that disputes between the March 8 and 14 camps would lead to a vacuum in the presidential position.
