Trump says US investment deals with Gulf states will replace Hormuz transit fees

U.S. President Donald Trump said on Tuesday that trade and investment agreements with Gulf countries will replace the 20% fees on goods passing through the Strait of Hormuz that he proposed on Monday.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump said that following “highly productive discussions” with Middle Eastern leaders, he decided to replace the 20% U.S. fees with trade and investment agreements with various Gulf states.
