Judge Saqr charges suspects in the Roumieh corruption case

State Commissioner to the Military Court Judge Saqr Saqr raised complaints on Monday against two ISF officers, several employees and a contractor on charges of corruption, negligence and embezzlement of public funds in the case of renovating the Roumieh prison.

Judge Saqr referred the dossier to the First Military Investigation Magistrate, Riad Abou Ghida for further investigations.

It is worth noting that Financial Prosecutor Judge Ali Ibrahim referred the suspects last week to the military judiciary.

The Roumieh penitentiary is an overcrowded prison that witnessed escalating riots over the past months as inmates living in poor conditions demand better treatment.
