Kanaan says Mikati signed decision to grant tenure to those who passed EDL test
The head of the Finance and Budget Committee MP Ibrahim Kanaan received Thursday a call from caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati informing him that the decision to grant tenure those who passed the skills test of the Electricité du Liban (EDL) was signed.

Kanaan had met on Wednesday with a delegation of the candidates who passed the test who in turn urged him to reach a solution in the case.

EDL contract workers had staged several sit-ins and protests, calling on the company to grant them tenure, but the authorities and the concerned parties stressed the need that the workers pass a skills test, according to which they will be granted tenure.
