Rokenabadi after meeting with Bassil: Iran ready to offer all forms of assistance to Lebanon

Foreign Minister Gebran Bassil met Monday with the Apostolic Nuncio Gabriel Katchea, who stressed that Lebanon has not yet been added to the agenda of the Pope Francis’ visit to the region, which is expected to take place between 24 and 16 May.

Separately, Bassil also met with a number of ambassadors representing Gulf States.

The ambassadors stressed their countries’ keenness on maintaining Lebanon’s sovereignty and stability, hoping that the formation of a national unity cabinet will lead to many future agreements, in a bid to save Lebanon from further security troubles.

On another note, Bassil received the Iranian ambassador to Lebanon Ghadanfar Rokenabadi and discussed the bilateral relations with the two countries.

For his part, Rokenabadi stressed his country’s readiness to offer all forms of assistance to Lebanon, to be able to fight against all types of terrorist groups.
