Bomb set to explode dismantled in Akkar- Army Command

The Army Command -Orientation Directorate said on Saturday that Lebanese citizen Hatem Zahraman reported earlier about the presence of a "suspicious object" attached to his Honda Accord car parked in the plain of Sheikh Taba, Akkar.

“Accordingly, a Lebanese Armed Forces unit, escorted by the military expert, rushed to the scene and cordoned off the area,” the Army Command said.

It added that the object turned out to be a hand grenade set to explode, noting that the military expert dismantled the bomb and took it to a safe place in order to detonate it later on.

“The military police launched an investigation into the incident under the supervision of the concerned judiciary,” the Army Command said.
