Army Intelligence arrests Ahmad al-Atrash in Arsal

The Lebanese Army Intelligence arrested on Saturday Ahmad al-Atrash, a dangerous man involved in plotting car bomb attacks.        

Ahmad al-Atrash, dubbed "the eagle of Arsal", was affiliated with Sami al-Atrash.          

Last month, the body of Sami al-Atrash was transported from Dar al-Amal University Hospital in Baalbek to his hometown Arsal amid tight security measures.                

Sources told LBCI that the Lebanese army released the owner of the house which harbored fugitive Sami al-Atrash.                

The house owner Ali Younes Ezzeddine and his brothers were not involved with al-Atrash.                 

Fugitive Sami al-Atrash was killed in a shootout as the Lebanese army raided the house of Ezzeddine in the border town of Arsal.                      

Al-Atrash is accused of involvement in car bomb attacks that targeted several Lebanese regions.
