Baalbek celebrates Palm Sunday
The Christians in Baalbek celebrated Palm Sunday by holding masses and popular ritual marches across the city.

Father Elias Ghariyos headed a ceremonial mass at the Our Lady of Deliverance Maronite Church in the presence of a crowd of believers, followed by a march that roamed the streets of Baalbek, where the participants held candles, olive branches and roses.

On Palm Sunday Christians celebrate the triumphal entry of Jesus Christ into Jerusalem, the week before His death and resurrection.

For many Christian churches, Palm Sunday, often referred to as "Passion Sunday," marks the beginning of Holy Week, which concludes on Easter Sunday.
