Charbel to LBCI: ISF will secure roads on New Year's Eve

Interior Minister Marwan Charbel told Nharkom Said TV show that the ISF took exceptional measures on New Year’s Eve to maintain order and organize traffic. Charbel said that an operation room within the Defense Ministry and a control room, both of which will include representatives of different security apparatuses were set in place in presence of the Lebanese Red Cross to treat emergencies.

Charbel stressed that security apparatuses will send civilian and military patrols to arrest people who will attempt to fire gunshots on New Year’s Eve.

“The ISF will also deploy vehicles on the streets to prevent people from driving too fast and to maintain public safety”, Charbel said.

Charbel hoped that all politicians agree on an appropriate way to manage political differences, adding that Kaslik’s blast was due to a gas leak.
