Russian ambassador: Talks over presidential elections may exceed deadline

Labor Minister Sejaan Azzi said Monday that Russia encourages all the Lebanese factions to commit to their duties and elect a new president, stressing its keenness on Lebanon’s stability and independence.

The minister made his remarks following a meeting with the Russian ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Zasypkin.

For his part, the Russian ambassador said that the internal Lebanese dialogue pertaining to the presidential elections may not come to an end by the 25th of May.
