EDL contract workers protest for 7th consecutive day
Electricite Du Liban (EDL) contract workers proceeded on Friday with their protests for the 7th consecutive day, stating that they will take escalatory measures if their demands are not met.

In this regard, the contract workers called for introducing amendments to the draft law related to conditions of their employment.

EDL contract workers have been protesting for months calling on the government to employ them as full-time staff and to pay their salaries.

Their protests have included shutting the gates of EDL headquarters in Beirut and disrupting normal work at the state-run company.
