Relics of Saint John Paul II arrive to Bkerke

The relics of Saint John Paul II arrived on Monday to Bkerke, where worshipers and religious figures gathered to hold prayers headed by Maronite Patriarch Cardinal Beshara Boutros Rai.

The relics arrived to Lebanon only 2 weeks after the canonization of John Paul II, where they were first received at the Saint George Maronite Cathedral in Beirut and later taken to the Basilica of Our Lady of the Miraculous Icon in Achrafieh.

On Sunday April 27th, Pope Francis proclaimed two of his predecessors, Popes John XXIII and John Paul II as saints of the Roman Catholic Church at a ceremony in Saint Peter's Square attended by hundreds of thousands of faithful from around the world.
