Customs Administration says 400,000 captagon pills confiscated

The Lebanese Customs Administration announced on Tuesday that it had successfully seized 400,000 captagon pills in one successful operation, which was followed by another raid to a warehouse used for forging food product expiry dates.

"On the 14th of April, 400,000 captagon pills hidden in agricultural equipment were confiscated," the statement said, adding that the equipment was intended for export to Saudi Arabia.

"The necessary legal procedures were taken and the pills were handed to the Internal Security Forces' Drug Control Office," the Customs administration said, noting that those involved in this case were arrested.

On another note, the Customs Administration said a pickup truck, loaded with rotten food with forged expiry dates, was stopped in Tripoli on May 13.

"Following thorough investigations, the main warehouse was raided and all the involved who are of Syrian origin were arrested," the statement added.
