MP Kanaan: Aoun seeks agreement between leaders to promote equality

Member of the Change and Reform bloc MP Ibrahim Kanaan contested Thursday allegations against MP Michel Aoun deeming him responsible for political inequality, stressing instead that Aoun has been seeking to forge an agreement between all political leaders.

“We seek to avoid the election of a president through the flawed means that were adopted over the past 24 years,” he added, ruling out any attempt to impose a president.

His comments come in response to MP Strida Geagea who said that MP Michel Aoun refuted the notion of equality when he said that “Former PM Saad Hariri, Hezbollah’s Sayyed Hasan Nasrallah and himself form the main pillars of Lebanon's trinity.”
