“Any slight setback that might strike the institutions would negatively affect the workers and employees, amid the absence of networks for economic protection,” he added.
In a statement to al-Anbaa website, Jumblatt noted that he will maintain his position rejecting “any attempt to drown the discussions over the series of ranks and salaries in populist bids, turning the financial deliberations into dangerous enticements with negatives repercussions on several levels.”
In this context, the MP stressed that any reckless decision to pass the pay scale would leave uncalculated effects on the national economy, noting that the failure to guarantee sources of funding is clear evidence to this theory; “no matter how popular or unpopular this stance is,” he explained.
“Some parties have forgotten the issue of the national debt, which reached at the end of the first third of the year nearly USD 64.8 billion,” he stated.
